Step back in time when you stay in our beautiful cosy cottage. It was recently sympathetically restored but still retains all of it's original features with oak beamed ceilings, window shutters, stone floors & walls and antique furniture throughout. The lounge is spacious with a large stone fireplace & has a wood burning stove. The TV & DVD are hidden in a cabinet so you can light the candles, put a log on the stove and rewind a century or two. The kitchen has fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave etc & leads into the cottage garden with small lawn, flower borders & car parking space. The en-suite bedroom is furnished with period pieces including a double & a single bed, wardrobe & drawers, original sash window with wooden shutters. The cottage is situated just off the High Street. It is within 2 minutes walk of several restaurants, pubs, antique shops etc. Bowes museum & the castle are within a 5 minute walk as are some lovely country riverside walks
Guests will have access to the whole house & garden
Other things to note
I leave firewood for the 1st night. The cottage has oil filled radiators but If you plan to use the stove each night, it is worth guests bringing additional logs.
